Description
The first impression for anyone visiting this place would be "Wow, who decided to build a prison in such a beautiful place?". So not a surprise why nowadays so many people select this place for special events like weddings. Although it seems a bit weird for me, the area is really gorgeous with absolutely incredible ocean views.
Prison ruins keep a history of the place specially built as a public works gaol where the convicts would construct the breakwater. Eventually, this scheme didn't work for this jail, but it left us a piece of past life. Come to this place to feel how the inmate life looked like more than 100 years ago. A small museum will help to understand and fully fell that time. I will not be copying the information from other recourses, but it's really interesting and you could find in more links.
There is also Trial Bay Gaol Campground area for the lovers of camping.
